No. 44 — Parlor Guitar

A small-bodied parlor guitar built for fingerstyle playing on a porch, not a stage.

Parlor-sized bodies trade raw volume for an intimate, immediate response that a lot of players find suits solo fingerstyle playing better than a dreadnought’s bigger, slower voice.

This one went to a player who specifically wanted an instrument for home playing — quiet rooms, not stages — so we voiced the top toward sensitivity and touch response rather than maximum projection, which is exactly the trade-off a smaller body is good for.

East Indian rosewood back and sides for a bit more low-end weight than the body size would otherwise suggest, European spruce top, satin nitrocellulose finish.
